Who this is for

The women I coach

Female-specific triathlon, running and nutrition coaching, run online from Singapore across nine time zones. Expat and local, first-timer and age-grouper. Most of them are somewhere in the middle of a life that does not pause for training.

01

First-timers

First 5k, first half marathon, first 70.3. There is no speed qualifier and there never has been. What you need is a plan that fits the life you actually have, not the one a generic programme assumes you have.

02

Women coming back

Postpartum return to running. Back from injury. Back after a year of nothing at all. We rebuild from where you are now, from the floor up, rather than from where you used to be.

03

Women mid-shift

Trying to conceive, going through IVF, pregnant, postnatal, perimenopausal, postmenopausal. Training that moves with your body instead of arguing with it.

04

Women chasing something big

Marathon, Ironman, HYROX, extreme triathlon. The one that scares you slightly is usually the right one, and it is usually more doable than it looks from here.

My story

I became the coach I needed

In my early twenties I was signed off work. In and out of hospital with depression and chronic pain. On antidepressants and sleeping pills, then more pills for the side effects of the first ones.

I walked out of a doctor’s surgery with a bag of medication and thought, this cannot be my life.

I started with laps of a car park. It went from there.

In 2018 I offered to coach anyone in Singapore for free. Four times a week, seven months, couch to marathon. I was trying to make friends.

Over a hundred women emailed. Nobody could work out why I’d do it for nothing.

Because I’d been there. Because if I could help, why not.

“Pretty Strong isn’t a coaching business. It’s the thing that saved me, given away to anyone willing to do the work.”

Pretty and strong. Refuse to choose.

My method

What I believe

01

Lifestyle-first programming

Across swim, bike, run, and strength. Flexible enough to live, structured enough to progress.

02

Nutrition on awareness, not restriction

Athletes who actually understand fuelling. Not athletes who count calories until they crash.

03

Biofeedback, not just numbers

Weekly check-ins on stress, sleep, energy, digestion, hunger cues. Numbers tell half the story.

04

Your cycle is data. So is perimenopause.

Neither is a reason to train you like a small man. Race day doesn’t care what phase you’re in. We coach women to manage their cycle the way they manage life.

05

Strength training is non-negotiable

Two to three sessions a week. The missing piece most endurance coaches skip.

06

You can actually reach me

WhatsApp access. Voice notes. Community groups. Calls on demand. Never coaching from a distance.

07

The woman comes first, the athlete comes second

I coach women, not “runners” or “triathletes”. Movement, longevity, mental wellbeing first.

08

I lead from the front

I’ve done the things. Norseman. Four marathons. The comebacks. If I haven’t done it, I won’t coach it.

Lived experience

I race what I coach

Norseman Xtreme Triathlon, 2024

The toughest Ironman on the planet. My comeback race after being hit by a car.

Four marathons

London twice, Rome, Singapore.

Longevity in the sport

Still racing at a high level. Coaching from a place of being a current athlete, not a retired one.

Before you ask

The questions I get

Do I need to be fast?

No. There is no time standard and there never has been. I have coached a woman to her first parkrun and a woman to an Ironman finish line in the same week.

I am not in Singapore. Does that work?

Most of my athletes are not. Coaching runs online, across nine time zones, and the group chat is awake at whatever hour you are.

Can you coach me through pregnancy or postpartum?

Yes, alongside your medical team rather than instead of it. Training flexes to the trimester you are in and the recovery you are actually having. Pelvic floor, broken sleep and no time are planned for, not ignored.

I am in perimenopause and everything has changed.

Then you are in the right place. Sleep, recovery and strength all start behaving differently. More lifting, more protein, smarter recovery, and we adjust before it bites rather than after.

What if I am trying to conceive, or going through IVF?

I hold an advanced qualification in fertility nutrition. Load comes down where it needs to and the ambition stays exactly where it is. Gentler weeks, honest conversations, and a plan that waits for you.

How long do women stay?

Three to five years is normal. My longest-standing athlete is eight years in and still racing. This was never designed as a twelve-week block.
